What is Nephrology about?

Chronic kidney disease

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) refers to progressive loss of renal function over a period of months and even years.

Varying condition can causes CKD, high blood pressure diabetes mellitus and primary renal disease are the most causes of CKD.

If left untreated end stage renal disease (ESRD) will be the eventual result of CKD.

CKD progressive slowly in most cases, early aggressive treatment is important to slow disease progression and even stop the progression
